At a reception for Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, who is in Hanoi for the 6th Greater Mekong Subregion Summit (GMS-6) and the 10th Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Summit (CLV-10), Mr. Quang said that Vietnam wholeheartedly supports Laos’ comprehensive reform, national construction and defense.
The President expressed belief that with the successes of the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017, 2018 will be a favourable year for the two countries to reinforce and expand their traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation, and lift cooperation to a higher level. He suggested pushing communications campaigns to educate young people on the special solidarity between the two countries.
The Lao Prime Minister asked the two countries to actively deploy high-ranking agreements to accelerate economic connectivity, especially in transport, energy and other key cooperative projects.
