Prime Minister chairs government meeting on election preparation during pandemic

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday presided over the Government’s meeting on preparations for the upcoming elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for the 2021-2026 tenure.

Mr. Chinh asked the Health Ministry to set criteria to determine COVID-19 hotspot localities and work out suitable responsive actions for such localities. Ministries and election organizations were asked to create scenarios for organizing the elections during the pandemic.

The PM urged the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications and news agencies to promote the elections and pandemic measures.

He called on People’s Committees at all levels to closely coordinate to ensure elections facilities and COVID-19 prevention measures.
