During a visit on Saturday, the first day of the new Lunar Year (Tet) holiday, the Prime Minister asked Da Nang’s armed forces to ensure utmost security for numerous significant events that the city will host as Vietnam chairs ASEAN this year.

“Da Nang should strive to fulfill this year’s plans. 2020 will be a year of many important events in Vietnam. Da Nang will host an ASEAN Summit, an international conference of ASEAN and its partners, and a range of ministerial meetings, drawing thousands of participants. Ensuring security for those events is a great responsibility you have to shoulder,” said Mr. Phuc.

The same day, Prime Minister Phuc visited Hai Chau district’s Party Committee and Thuan Phuoc ward. He applauded local socio-economic development and Party building. Mr. Phuc suggested that Hai Chai district, as the center of Da Nang, boost the service sector, build a smart urban area, and enhance urban management.
