Pupils in border areas honored for excellent academic results

(VOVWORLD) - The Border Guard Command of Thua Thien Hue province and A Luoi District’s Education Office on Sunday held a ceremony to honor students with outstanding academic results in the 2022-2023 school year under the project “Military cadres and soldiers help local children to go to school”.

They gave certificates of merit and gifts worth 1.650 USD (40 million VND) to 100 pupils from elementary to high school in A Luoi district.

Colonel Dang Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Political Commissar of the Border Guard Command of Thua Thien Hue province, said: “The program has been implemented by the border soldiers of Thua Thien Hue province since 2014. This is the emotion of the border soldiers toward children in difficult circumstances. Our purpose is to demonstrate profound humanity and pay gratitude to ethnic people in the border areas, and together we protect the border."

In recent years, the provincial border guard units have supported 700 pupils in the program “Military cadres and soldiers help local children to go to school”.
