Participants offered incense and observed a minute of silence in remembrance of the fallen soldiers and civilians.

Venerable Thich Thanh Phong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Council, said the Sangha has worked closely with city authorities in recent years in the search, excavation, and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers. Thanks to the support of modern science and technology, many sets of remains have been successfully identified and returned to their families.

“This gives these fallen heroes the opportunity to return to their comrades, and their motherland, and finally be reunited with family members who have patiently waited for so many years,” said Venerable Thich Thanh Phong.
