The two leaders will discuss pressing issues in bilateral relations, while also seeking to further the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between Moscow and Beijing, according to the Kremlin.
The Russian leader's visit comes shortly after the US-China summit in Beijing, where President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping sought to stabilize relations between the world's two largest economies, although no significant breakthroughs were achieved on trade, technology, or the Iran issue.
The Kremlin said that following the talks between President Putin and President Xi, the two sides are expected to sign a high-level joint statement and several key bilateral cooperation agreements.
Putin's schedule in Beijing also includes a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, focusing on prospects for trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
