The ST25 research team includes engineer Ho Quang Cua, Doctor Tran Tan Phuong, and engineer Nguyen Thi Thu Huong.

Soc Trang province held a meeting on Monday to honor the three researchers. The provincial People’s Committee Chairman Tran Van Chuyen said: “The local agriculture sector needs to focus on popularizing the new rice and mobilizing farmers to maintain Soc Trang’s rice quality standard. We should develop a production model using VietGAP and Global GAP standards.”

This is the first time Vietnam has won the annual World's Best Rice competition organized by The Rice Trader magazine in the framework of the World Rice Conference in Manila.
