According to the Business Climate Survey 2026, released by Business Sweden and the Swedish Embassy in Vietnam on Thursday, 67% of surveyed firms described the local business climate as “good” or “very good”, up sharply from 46% in 2025. Companies also expressed high satisfaction with Vietnam’s strong supplier base, reliable distribution networks, and overall business stability.
Following Vietnam’s 8.02% GDP growth in 2025, 61% of Swedish firms expect their industry turnover to increase this year, while half plan to expand their investments in 2026.
As Vietnam pursues its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, sustainability is increasingly shaping the market. Currently, 59% of surveyed firms report that environmental considerations actively influence consumer choices.
"Swedish companies bring not only investment but also experience in sustainable solutions and innovation that support Vietnam’s continued development," said Johan Ndisi, Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam.
However, respondents identified regulatory complexity, licensing procedures, and customs processes as key areas requiring further administrative reform.
Conducted annually, the survey tracks the sentiment, investment plans, and challenges of Swedish companies operating in Vietnam.
