The storm injured five people and caused extensive damage, with many homes losing their roofs. More than 764 hectares of rice, crops and forestry trees were damaged or flattened, while around 700 poultry were killed. The storm also brought down power poles, tore roofs off factories and impacted schools, cultural houses and two healthcare facilities.
Provincial authorities have directed localities to mobilize resources to help residents repair their homes and arrange temporary accommodation for those hardest hit. Efforts are also underway to restore damaged schools and medical stations to ensure daily life can return to normal.
Ms. Phan Thi Na, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tan Ky Commune, said, “When the storm occurred, local authorities promptly stayed on duty and took response measures. Police and military forces, along with residents, were mobilized to support schools and households. That same night, several households were evacuated to safe shelters. Fortunately, there have been no fatalities so far. We are assessing the damage and focus on recovery efforts.”
