Mr. Lam was speaking at a meeting in Brussels on Wednesday with representatives of Vietnamese missions in Belgium and the Vietnamese community in Europe, during his official visits to the European Union and Belgium.
He affirmed that overseas Vietnamese have remained closely connected to their homeland. They have worked hard to build stable lives, integrate into their host societies, and preserve Vietnamese cultural identity.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium and Head of the Vietnamese Mission to the EU Nguyen Huong Tra said the Vietnamese community in Europe, numbering around 1.5 million, continues to grow and gain greater recognition, standing, and influence.
