He was speaking at a ceremony on Friday marking the 195th anniversary of Thai Nguyen’s founding, the presentation of the First-Class Labor Order to the province, and the opening of the 2026 Thai Nguyen International Tea Festival.

Mr. Lam called on Thai Nguyen to develop an integrated and balanced spatial plan linking industry, urban areas, and ecological zones. Infrastructure, he said, should connect production areas and training institutions with markets while bringing essential services closer to people in remote areas.

“The entire province must ensure unity in action, allocating resources according to overall needs and efficiency. The two-tier local government system must operate smoothly, with stronger capacity at the commune level, particularly in mountainous areas, ensuring convenient access to public services for residents,” he said.

The top leader suggested strengthening the autonomy of the industrial sector, with science, technology, and human resources as its foundation.

“Alongside attracting high-quality investment, we must support domestic businesses in upgrading their technological capabilities, meeting standards, and participating more deeply in supply chains. Cooperation with international corporations should create more opportunities for engineer training, supplier development, and local research,” he said.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented Thai Nguyen Province with a certificate recognizing “Knowledge of Thai Nguyen Tea Cultivation and Processing” as a national intangible cultural heritage.
