On Saturday morning, Mr. Lam visited the A*STAR Model Factory, one of Singapore’s flagship research and application facilities for smart industry, innovation and digital transformation in production. Vietnam aims to establish practical technology centers, he said, describing Singapore as an important partner with valuable development experience. The top leader expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, smart manufacturing, innovation and high-tech workforce training would continue expanding in the years ahead.
Later the same day, the Vietnamese leader visited the Singapore Rail Test Centre, where he said the model offers useful lessons for Vietnam as metro systems in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City continue expanding operations.
According to the leader, Vietnam can learn from Singapore’s approach to training engineers capable of mastering core technologies and independently carrying out inspection, maintenance and overhaul work for critical rail systems. He also highlighted the application of digital transformation technologies to optimize maintenance processes and reduce operational costs.
