Mr. Lam made the remarks at a meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday with 101 outstanding journalists who have received National Press Awards over the years, along with veteran journalists, on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).

He outlined key priorities for the press in the coming period, including helping to strengthen public trust, safeguard the Party’s ideological foundation, enhance communication of Party guidelines and State laws and policies, and counter false and hostile information.

The top leader also underscored the need for the press to fundamentally transform its professional practices in the digital era.

In particular, media organizations should build modern, multimedia newsrooms with strong data analytics capabilities and the capacity to produce content across multiple platforms while engaging younger audiences and preserving the credibility and distinctive identity of Vietnam’s revolutionary press.
