The timeless songs of the late musician, dubbed the Bob Dylan of Vietnam, were performed in an open space beside the Perfume River.

“I was very lucky to come to Hue during this event. Music nights like this help Hue attract tourists. People young and old love it. It makes me want to return to Hue more often,” said Nghiem Thi Thanh Van, a tourist from Hanoi.

Nguyen Phuoc Hai Trung, Deputy Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center and Deputy Head of the Hue Festival Organizing Committee, said the event honors the musical legacy of Trinh Cong Son, who was deeply connected to Hue, and creates a space for artistic exchange and connects music lovers across generations.

“For Vietnamese, and Hue people in particular, Trinh Cong Son's music holds a very special place. This is a precious artistic heritage that contributes to spreading Hue's cultural values. Every time Hue organizes a Trinh Cong Son music program, it draws tremendous public attention,” said Trung.

Hue International Music Week 2026, running until Thursday, is a gathering of artists from Vietnam, France, Spain, Australia, Japan, and South Korea. The performances are held free of charge on an outdoor stage beside the Perfume River.
