Russia's RIA Novosti news agency quoted Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov as saying that the two leaders discussed prospects for a settlement in Ukraine, particularly in the context of Trump's upcoming participation in the NATO summit in Turkey on July 7 and 8. Ushakov added that the 85-minute call also covered developments in Iran and the broader Middle East.

Earlier on Saturday, Zelensky said in a post on X that he and Trump had discussed the more than four years of conflict in Ukraine and ongoing diplomatic efforts, describing the conversation as "very good".

Zelensky said there is a real prospect to bring the conflict to an end, adding that both sides agreed to continue their discussions during the NATO summit in Ankara.
