UK believes a free trade deal with EU can be reached

(VOVWORLD) - A spokesman for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Wednesday that the UK still believes it can secure a free trade agreement with the European Union before the end of the transition period, but said the UK is prepared to leave without a deal.

He said Britain believes there is a free trade agreement to be reached but it is prepared for either eventuality at the end of the year, whether that be a free trade agreement or a trade relationship on the same terms that Australia currently has.
