Ms. Sherman will become the highest-level diplomat to visit China since bilateral ties turned tense due to trade conflicts. She is scheduled to meet with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Sherman’s China visit will follow visits to Japan, South Korea, and Mongolia, as part of her second trip to Asia in less than two months.
