Harris visited Corning Inc.'s Hemlock Semiconductor facility to talk about the importance of the government investing in manufacturing jobs and partnering with the private sector. The company recently received an investment of 325 million USD under the Chips and Science Act signed into law by President Joe Biden in August 2022. Harris appeared at a rally in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Monday evening with her running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Former President Barack Obama campaigned for Harris in Philadelphia, while former First Lady Michelle Obama hosted a rally in Atlanta, Georgia. The two Vice Presidential candidates, Republican J.D. Vance and Democrat Tim Walz, made stops in Wisconsin.
As of Monday, some 46 million Americans have voted early, down from 60 million at the same time in the 2020 election.
