US President congratulates President To Lam on his election as Vietnam's Party leader

(VOVWORLD) - US President Joe Biden has congratulated President To Lam on his election as the General Secretary of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

In a statement on Wednesday, President Biden said that nearly one year ago, Vietnam and the United States launched their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership—marking a new era of strong cooperation between the two nations.

"Vice President Harris and I look forward to working with General Secretary Lam to continue advancing this historic progress, which supports a strong, independent, prosperous, and resilient Vietnam," the statement said.
