(VOVworld) – US President Barack Obama reiterated the US commitment to Israel security and pledged to eliminate all chances for Iran to develop nuclear bombs.
During a visit to an influential synagogue in Washington on Friday, Obama said the framework nuclear agreement reached between Iran and P5+1 last month has frozen some processes in Iran’s nuclear program.
The visit was also an attempt to mend a strained relationship with Israel due to the US’s new approach to Iran’s nuclear issue. Obama’s approach received strong criticism from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who said the nuclear deal with Iran threatened Israel’s security and existence.
