US Secretary of State highlights focuses of US’s new foreign policy

(VOVWORLD) - US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the US aims at extending the New Strategic Arms Reduction Strategy for additional 5 years and considering counter measures against some anti-US actions from Russia. Mr. Blinken said President Joe Biden has mentioned these worries during last week’s phone call with President Putin.

The new US Secretary of State called on Iran to comply with the Joint Comprehensive Partnership of Action signed in 2015 warning that things would become worse if Iran continues to lift restrictions under the agreement.

Concerning China, Blinken said Beijing is posing major challenges for the US more than any other country. He urged China to create conditions for a transparent investigation into the origin of SARS-CoV-2 virus.
