During talks in Moscow on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Phan Văn Giang and Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov also discussed experience sharing, humanitarian mine clearance, military history education and communications, training cooperation, and joint projects between the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center and units under Russia’s Defense Ministry.
General Giang affirmed Vietnam’s readiness to receive Russian military personnel for Vietnamese-language training, and international defense officials for specialized courses at Vietnamese academies and schools. He also extended an invitation to leaders of Russia’s Defense Ministry and Russian defense industry enterprises to showcase their products at the third Vietnam International Defense Expo in December this year.
Minister Belousov reiterated his support and readiness to boost cooperation in new areas.
The same day, General Phan Van Giang and his delegation laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument and planted a commemorative tree at the square bearing the late leader's name. The delegation also laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow.
