The Commemorative Summit will review the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership, propose new directions, key areas, breakthrough measures, and foster substantive, mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly in energy security, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang.
He underlined Vietnam’s bridging role, saying “The trip’s overarching goal is to promote Vietnam's role as a “bridge,” fostering consensus and contributing practical directions, thereby creating new momentum for ASEAN-Russia relations. This is even more significant given that Vietnam has played a key role in building consensus within ASEAN on organizing this Summit, and will also assume the role of coordinating country in ASEAN-Russia relations from 2027 to 2030."
"This is not just about attending a Summit, but also an important preparatory step for Vietnam to contribute more deeply to shaping ASEAN-Russia cooperation in the coming years," according to Deputy FM Giang
While in Russia, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung will have a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and work with the head of the Republic of Tatarstan.
