Prime Minister Hung asked Estonia to have its voice to urge the remaining European Union countries to soon ratify the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), and the European Commission (EU) to lift the "yellow card" for illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities imposed on Vietnamese seafood exports.

He stressed the need to actively implement the two countries' main pillars of digital transformation, digital economy, and innovation, while strengthening cooperation in defense and security, education, and training.

The PM said he hopes Estonia will support Vietnam in e-government development, digital transformation, data centers, and cybersecurity. He called for stronger collaboration in robotics, smart manufacturing, industrial automation, and AI applications to enhance productivity and national competitiveness.

FM Tsahkna reiterated Estonia’s readiness to help Vietnam in workforce upskilling, particularly in IT, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence.

He said a delegation of 10 Estonian companies has accompanied him to explore opportunities aligned with Vietnam’s development priorities, including energy and the digital, green, and circular economies.
