Le Trieu Dung, Director of the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said before 2005 there were just 22 trade remedies related lawsuits on Vietnam's exports. This number has risen to 208 since then. More particularly, the number of anti-circumvention probes into goods imported from Vietnam is on the rise.
To avoid possible losses from trade remedies, Dung said that on top of the state management agencies’ support, Vietnamese businesses’ proactiveness is decisive.
They are recommended to prepare knowledge of trade remedies laws and regulations set in free trade agreements between Vietnam and partners to understand their obligations and rights.
