Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan, representing Vietnam, received the document from the United States Ambassador to Vietnam Jennifer Wicks.

Speaking at the event, Minister Quan emphasized that Vietnam identifies space science and technology as a key sector, one that contributes to enhancing national scientific and technological capabilities and supports sustainable development.

Vietnam looks forward to working with other signatory nations to promote cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space—ensuring it remains peaceful, safe, equitable, transparent, and sustainable—in accordance with international law, ultimately delivering tangible benefits to humanity and the planet, Mr. Quan added.

He said Vietnam prioritizes building autonomous capabilities in space technology and data, while fostering applications in resource management, environmental protection, climate change response, and disaster prevention. Vietnam aims to develop a space economy ecosystem and strengthen its governance framework for space-related activities.

The Artemis Accords were initiated in 2020 by the United States and seven partner nations to establish a set of common principles for fostering international cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.
