At a ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday marking the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM), he said the Government is implementing a range of measures, including preparations for the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant project and the Nuclear Science and Technology Research Center project in Dong Nai Province.

These are major national projects that require substantial resources and close coordination among relevant agencies, including the VINATOM, Deputy PM Dung said.

He urged the Institute to promptly complete the restructuring of its organizational model and strive to fulfill the objectives set out in the strategy for the peaceful application of atomic energy through 2035, with a vision toward 2050.

“The agency should be developed into a leading organization that plays a central role in scientific research, technology development, technical support, and human resource training in the nuclear field,” said Deputy PM Dung.
