At the event, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Phi Long acknowledged the important contributions made by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist followers to national development, and called on the Sangha to continue promoting people-to-people diplomacy and international Buddhist exchanges, helping introduce to the world the image of a peace-loving and compassionate Vietnam rich in cultural traditions.
On Saturday evening, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha organized a procession of the Buddha’s sacred relics through central streets of Hanoi, offering Buddhist followers and local residents an opportunity to pay their respects and pray for peace, prosperity, and well-being.
Vesak 2026 celebrations were also held in Hue and Ho Chi Minh City.
