This is the first time Vietnam has been invited to be a discussant at the review session hosted by a WTO member.

Dung commended Japan’s commitment to advancing trade liberalization and strengthening the multilateral trading system with the WTO at its core. Japan is a constructive WTO member in WTO reform, dispute settlement, and fisheries subsidies negotiations, committed to the principles of openness, transparency, non-discrimination and inclusiveness, she said.

In addition, Japan has supported trade and development initiatives through Aid for Trade programs aimed at helping developing and least-developed members improve their international economic integration, according to Ambassador Dung.
