Deputy Prime Minister Tuc on Thursday addressed the 29th Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), where he proposed three major cooperation orientations to secure a stable future for the region and the world.
First, countries need to strengthen connectivity instead of isolation; maintain a free, open, transparent, inclusive, and rules-based trade and investment environment; create conditions for developing countries to have more equitable access to market factors, technology, and development resources.
Second, it is crucial to enhance the capacity to adapt to the rapid changes in science and technology. Digital technologies, especially artificial intelligence, should become the driving force for increased productivity, innovation, and inclusive development, rather than creating new "technological frontiers."
Third, it is essential to enhance self-reliance and the ability to respond to global challenges such as climate change, natural disasters, epidemics, and non-traditional risks. People should be at the center and as the subjects of all development strategies, ensuring that each nation and each citizen has better adaptability, greater autonomy, and a shared benefit from the fruits of sustainable development.
On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc held working meetings with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Saint Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov. Earlier the same day, the Deputy Prime Minister laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Monument located in Ho Chi Minh Square in Saint Petersburg.
