Vietnam ready to work with Laos to ensure success of ASEAN Summits

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam speaks highly of the leadership role of Laos as ASEAN Chair in 2024 and is ready to work closely with Laos and other countries to ensure the success of the ASEAN Summits, as well as the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, contributing to elevating Laos's standing and ASEAN solidarity.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made the statement while meeting with his Lao counterpart Sonexay Siphandone upon arriving in Vientiane on Tuesday for the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits.

Both PMs underlined the enduring value of Vietnam-Laos and Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia solidarity.

They reached consensus on continuing to work closely with Cambodia to develop their trilateral cooperation in a more substantive and effective manner, ensuring that it meets the practical needs of all the three countries and aligns with their development priorities in the new era.
