The two sides were committed to facilitating trade and expanding market access for each other’s goods, with the goal of raising two-way trade to 150 billion USD by 2030.

“Both countries are determined to promote cooperation in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as key pillars of their bilateral relationship. Cooperation in culture, education and people-to-people exchanges will also be expanded, forming a solid foundation for long-term, sustainable ties.”

President Lee reaffirmed that the Republic of Korea will work closely with Vietnam to develop model cooperation projects, particularly in new urban areas and airport development. He highlighted plans to expand cooperation in science and technology, climate change, the environment, culture and education.

Later the same evening, Party leader and President Lam and his spouse hosted a state banquet in honor of President Lee and his spouse during their state visit to Vietnam.
