During the mission, the Vietnamese contingent will use search dogs to locate victims trapped beneath collapsed buildings, conduct urban search-and-rescue operations, provide emergency medical assistance to survivors, and carry out other humanitarian tasks to support local authorities and affected communities.
Logistical preparations have also been completed. According to the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services, relief supplies, including food, drinking water, medicines, and essential equipment, are ready for deployment.
Speaking at a meeting in Hanoi on Sunday to assign tasks to the team, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence, stressed the mission’s significant international importance.
He said the deployment reflects Vietnam’s humanitarian spirit and foreign policy commitments, helps enhance the country’s standing in international disaster response efforts, and reaffirms the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Venezuela.
