Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh said economic ties between Vietnam and Singapore continued to strengthen, with bilateral trade reaching 30.9 billion USD in 2025. Singapore remained Vietnam's largest foreign direct investor, he said, noting thay the rapidly expanding halal economy is adding momentum to the two countries' Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Vietnam sees the halal industry as a strategic opportunity to diversify export markets and strengthen supply chain resilience, the ambassador said.

He stressed that Vietnam's strengths in agriculture, seafood, food processing and manufacturing complement Singapore's advantages in finance, logistics, innovation and internationally recognized halal certification systems. Bringing these strengths together would help build a competitive regional halal value chain, connecting producers across the ASEAN with global markets.
