“We are committed to strengthening our friendly cooperation, building high-level political trust, and expanding the scope and depth of cooperation in a comprehensive and substantive manner,” said Vietnam’s top leader.
Mr. Lam called for further efforts to deepen cooperation in politics, defense, and security, while enhancing collaboration in economy, trade, investment, agriculture, energy, and science and technology.
“We agreed to implement breakthrough measures to soon achieve the target of 1 billion USD in two-way trade, while working toward a future bilateral trade and investment agreement between the two countries,” he noted.
The Vietnamese leader said Vietnamese businesses are ready to expand investment in Sri Lanka through strategic projects that will contribute to the country’s socio-economic development and further strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
On the occasion, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake witnessed the exchange of cooperation documents in security, science and technology, culture, information, and communications.
