According to a representative of the World Health Organization in Vietnam, Ebola outbreaks continue to evolve in a complex manner in both the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.

WHO assesses the risk of spread as high in affected countries and surrounding regions, but low at the global level, including for Vietnam. However, countries are still advised to proactively implement preventive measures.

Vietnam’s Department of Preventive Medicine said no Ebola cases have been recorded in the country so far, and the risk of an outbreak entering Vietnam is currently considered low. Nevertheless, authorities have not ruled out the possibility of imported cases through travelers arriving from affected areas.

Local health authorities nationwide have been instructed to strengthen Ebola surveillance and prevention measures, particularly through close monitoring of incoming travelers. Ebola testing supplies are expected to arrive in Vietnam within about a week.Tôi
