This marks PM Le Minh Hung’s first overseas trip since taking office and also his first in-person participation at a multilateral summit as head of the Vietnamese Government.
Ambassador and Head of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to ASEAN Ton Thi Ngoc Huong, said, “Prime Minister Le Minh Hung’s participation in the 48th ASEAN Summit for the first time in his new position affirms Vietnam’s strong commitment to ASEAN and the efforts Vietnam will continue to make to contribute to a stronger and more developed ASEAN. Vietnam will continue to work with ASEAN member states, first and foremost to enhance ASEAN’s resilience amid growing global uncertainties, including the impacts of Middle East tensions.”
Ms. Huong said at the 48th ASEAN Summit, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and ASEAN leaders will discuss and propose coordinated ASEAN responses to challenges arising from the rapidly changing and increasingly complex geopolitical and geo-economic environment in the region and around the world.
