The Congress will be attended by 780 delegates, including exemplary trade union officials and members representing industries, fields, localities, and units nationwide; and representing the will, aspirations, and wisdom of nearly 10 million trade union members.

The theme of the Congress is building a strong and comprehensive Vietnam Trade Union. It focuses on representing, caring for, and protecting union members and workers; promoting the pioneering role and spirit of innovation and creativity, contributing to realizing the aspiration of building a prosperous, civilized, and happy country.

Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, said the Congress received tens of thousands of opinions and suggestions from workers nationwide. "Issues that workers are very concerned about include the minimum wage being raised to a living wage, which is a very legitimate desire of workers. A living wage raises the issue that workers need to accumulate savings so that when they encounter unforeseen circumstances in life, they have additional financial resources to solve problems."

"The second issue is cutting working hours, which has been included in the National Assembly Resolution since 2019. The next issue is reducing the retirement age for some groups of workers, especially those working in arduous and hazardous fields. Another issue is public holidays, which also matter," according to Hieu.
