Competing against more than 200 contestants from 37 countries and territories, all four Vietnamese students won medals.
Notably, Ngo Hoang Minh achieved an outstanding second-place finish overall. This marks only the second year Vietnam has participated in the competition.
“The entire team is delighted with the results, especially Ngo Hoang Minh’s exceptional performance, ranking second among all participants, an outstanding achievement in such a prestigious and challenging competition. This is the first time a Vietnamese student has reached this distinction,” said Professor Nguyen Hung Huy, head of the Vietnamese delegation.
The International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad is one of the world’s most prestigious and challenging high school chemistry competitions, with its regulations recognized by UNESCO.
