Prime Minister Le Minh Hung will attend the 48th ASEAN Summit in the Philippines on Thursday and Friday, which is expected to set out key strategic directions for the bloc’s next development phase.
According to Ambassador Huong, the upcoming ASEAN Summit marks PM Hung’s first overseas trip in his new capacity. His attendance will provide substantive contributions to the region’s response to geopolitical shifts, energy and food shocks, and intensifying major-power competition.
Vietnam will continue, alongside ASEAN, to uphold international law, reinforce a peaceful and stable environment, expand economic connectivity, and deepen ties with partners, thereby further affirming ASEAN’s centrality in the regional architecture, Ms. Huong said.
On the sidelines of the summit, PM Hung is expected to hold bilateral meetings with ASEAN leaders.
