Vietnamese national team expected to rise one place in FIFA rankings

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese men’s national football team is expected to move up one spot in the FIFA rankings set to be released on July 20, thanks to their victories over Hong Kong (China) and Syria in recent matches.

The Vietnamese team will add 8.54 points to reach a total of 1,300 points. They rank 15^th in Asia.

The Vietnamese men's national team will compete in seed group 2 (Pot 2) of the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Because it's among Asia’s top 25 teams, the team won’t need to take part in a play-off round to reach the group stage of the qualifiers.
