At the opening ceremony, Vice President Doan received the Global Women’s Leadership award for her efforts to expand the role of women and her contributions to connecting Vietnamese female entrepreneurs with others around the world.
Established in 1990, the Global Summit of Women is held annually to boost female participation in and contributions to global socio-economic development, especially in business. This year’s three-day event drew some 1,000 delegates from 63 nations and territories around the world.
Also on Thursday, Ms. Doan met President of the Communist Party of Brazil Renato Rabelo, and told him the Communist Party of Vietnam wishes to step up cooperation with the Brazilian Communist Party to strengthen the Vietnam-Brazil comprehensive partnership. She thanked the Brazilian people for supporting Vietnam, affirming that her country continually attaches importance to developing its comprehensive partnership with Brazil – its largest trade partner in Latin America.
Vice President Doan also met Mayor of Sao Paulo Fernando Haddad and told him Vietnam wants to enhance its ties with Sao Paulo. The mayor said Sao Paulo wants to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam, especially in economics, trade, investment, culture, science, and technology, and is eager to twin with Vietnamese localities. Ms. Doan invited Mayor Haddad to visit Vietnam and boost ties between Sao Paulo and Vietnamese major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Ming City.
