Addressing the Vietnam-Singapore Tech Connect Forum in Singapore on Friday, he said Vietnam consistently identifies science and technology as a central driver of development.

“We are working to further improve institutions, develop high-quality human resources, strengthen the innovation ecosystem, and create favorable conditions for businesses to engage more deeply in digital transformation and technological development,” the Vietnamese leader said.

Vietnam attaches great importance to expanding international cooperation in science, technology, innovation, and human resource development, Mr. Lam noted. “In today’s world, technological self-reliance does not mean isolation. It should be built on the foundation of open cooperation, knowledge connectivity, and shared technological advancement.”

Expressing his admiration for Singapore’s long-term development vision, modern governance, and dynamic innovation ecosystem, the Vietnamese leader said he hopes the two countries will expand cooperation into more knowledge- and technology-intensive sectors, while building practical mechanisms to turn connectivity into substantive cooperation and concrete projects in the time ahead.

The forum brought together scientists, businesses, universities, research institutes, and technology experts from Vietnam and Singapore.
