In response to the Humanitarian Month throughout May, Red Cross branches at all levels in Vinh Long province mobilized resources totaling nearly 520,000 USD. The fund has been used to build 38 bridges and rural roads as well as 31 houses for the needy. It has helped 400 humanitarian cases and 30,000 poor, near-poor households and disadvantaged people.
Tu Minh Dien, Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Red Cross Society, said, “During Humanitarian Month 2026, we coordinated multiple activities to care for disadvantaged people, especially ethnic minorities. Through these meaningful actions, we hope to contribute to sharing and helping people in particularly difficult circumstances to improve their lives.”
As planned, on June 6, the Vinh Long Provincial Red Cross will coordinate the distribution of 200 gifts to disadvantaged households, Khmer ethnic minorities, elderly people living alone, and people with disabilities in Tra Cu commune.
