During discussions, the two sides expressed their desire to expand media cooperation, enhance information exchange, share experiences in digital transformation, and promote cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Slovenia. Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria and Slovenia Vu Le Thai Hoang also attended the meetings.

RTV Slovenia, one of Europe’s longest-established public broadcasters and a member of the European Broadcasting Union, is Slovenia’s largest media organization. Operating as a public-service broadcaster, it provides radio, television, and digital news services nationwide.

Ms. Natalija Gorščak, President of RTV Slovenia’s Management Board, said the broadcaster operates seven radio channels, five television channels, and a range of digital platforms. She expressed hope that the VOV delegation’s visit would help deepen cooperation, particularly in culture, music, tourism, and content exchange.

Vice President Hung highlighted VOV’s efforts to modernize its content, formats, and management practices to better serve audiences, especially younger generations. He noted that digital transformation and expansion across online platforms are among VOV’s priorities.

In this context, VOV hopes to strengthen information exchange and content-sharing cooperation with RTV Slovenia, helping audiences in both countries gain a deeper understanding of each other while supporting broader cooperation in areas such as culture and tourism.

Mr. Hung also expressed interest in Slovenia’s achievements in science and technology, as well as its experience in public media management, saying these could provide valuable lessons for Vietnam’s media sector.

The VOV delegation also met with RTV Slovenia’s editorial leaders and toured the broadcaster’s facilities. Discussions focused on innovations in radio broadcasting, podcast development, digital content distribution, audience engagement, and the integration of multimedia formats into modern newsroom operations.

Earlier, during a working session with the delegation, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang praised VOV’s efforts to expand partnerships with media organizations in the Balkan region and expressed confidence that the visit would open new avenues for cooperation between Vietnam and Slovenia.

Founded in 1928, RTV Slovenia is the country’s national public broadcaster and operates under the Slovenian government. The organization employs around 2,200 staff and has an annual budget of approximately 156 million euros. About 68% of its funding comes from radio and television license fees paid by households, while the remainder is provided through government support and advertising revenue. In addition to its extensive broadcasting network, RTV Slovenia also maintains a symphony orchestra and several professional artistic ensembles. Despite Slovenia’s population of just over 2.1 million people, the country continues to invest heavily in public broadcasting, with a strong emphasis on digital transformation, podcasting, and social media content distribution.
