Produced by journalists An Kien and Khac Kien from VOV’s Northwest Bureau, the work was honored at a ceremony held on Sunday in Sri Lanka as part of the 63rd General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).

This is the sixth consecutive year that VOV has won a top honor at the ABU Awards.

The podcast tells the story of Sawtooth Peak, which rises more than 2,800 meters above sea level in Sin Suoi Ho commune, Lai Chau province. A century-old forest on the mountain was devastated by a wildfire early last year. In its aftermath, local Mong ethnic people began replanting the forest, embarking on a journey of healing for both nature and the community.

The two VOV journalists made a 16-kilometer round trip, including an 8-kilometer uphill trek over steep, rocky terrain in a hailstorm, to witness the forest's recovery.

The ABU Awards are held annually. This year, the radio category attracted 133 entries from broadcasters competing in seven categories.
