The program, titled “Returning to the sacred moment,” was organized by VTC News, an online newspaper under the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), in collaboration with the Khanh Hoa Department of Science and Technology.

Using virtual reality headsets, participants can step into Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi on September 2, 1945, and witness President Ho Chi Minh proclaiming the Declaration of Independence, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Archival footage, photographs, audio recordings, and input from history experts help recreate the scene, including the crowd’s cheers and applause.

“Residents and visitors can immerse themselves in the atmosphere of September 2, 1945. Thanks to technology, we can relive that historic moment. It is a very meaningful activity as part of Khanh Hoa’s digital transformation festival,” Nguyen Thanh Ha, Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, said.

Nguyen Thi Yen Phi, a resident of Nha Trang Ward, shared her experience, “It strengthens my patriotism and reminds me of my roots. I brought my son here to experience the atmosphere of Independence Day and understand what that historic moment felt like.”
