21 cannon shots from Thang Long Imperial Citadel welcomed the Korean guests. Afterwards, General Secretary and President Lam invited President Lee to review the Honor Guard of the Vietnam People's Army. The two leaders witnessed the welcoming parade of the Honor Guard of the Vietnam People's Army.

The state visit to Vietnam is the first by Lee Jae Myung as the Republic of Korean President. He is the first foreign head of state to visit Vietnam after the 16th National Assembly consolidated the state leadership.
