Western Balkan countries may join EU in 2025: EC chief

(VOVWORLD) -European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker has told Western Balkan countries on Sunday to aim for 2025 as the date when they could join the European Union if they worked to meet the criteria for membership.

Speaking at a press conference in Albania during a tour of countries aspiring to join the EU, Juncker said 2025 was a potential entry date for all, not just frontrunners such as Serbia and Montenegro.
