The Port is strategically located on an international shipping route and serves as the endpoint of the East-West Economic Corridor, one of the key connecting axes between Vietnam and Southeast Asia and the Mekong region.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc said it’s a model project, which will help realize the Party's guidelines and policies, and meet the development requirements in the new era. He urged the investor to focus resources on constructing the project safely, with quality, and on schedule, to effectively utilize the special preferential mechanisms and policies for strategic investors.
“Da Nang City and the investor must act in unison with a spirit of speed and efficiency. The master project must be completed on schedule, ensuring quality, making Da Nang a prosperous port city, contributing significantly to the national growth and confirming its role as a modern logistics and port center in the central region and the whole country in the new era”, Deputy PM Tuc said.
“Lien Chieu Container Port is not only an infrastructure project but also a strategic link in the national and global chain. It will contribute to positioning Vietnam more deeply within the international transport network,” he added.
